SESEF’s Projects and Resources
SESEF is currently working on a range of projects and resources. Our website is under development and you can expect to see more resources online in early 2010. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please get in touch with Catherine Morgan.
Primary resources:
- The Science of Soils (level 2)
- Ice Age Free (level 2) (landscape, glaciation and geology)
- Science of Landscape (level 2) (revised and updated)
- Science of Weather (level 2)(revised and updated)
- Earth Science Outdoors (outdoors education resources for primary teachers and pupils)
Secondary resources
- Earth Science Outdoors (levels 3 /4, Intermediate and Higher) (fieldwork resources to support geological field work; currently in Aberdeenshire, Fife and Lothians)
- Peat and the Flow Country (level 3/4) (cross-disciplinary resources; chemistry, geography and biology to inform discussion and debate about land-use)
- Earth structure, earth forces and plate tectonics (level 3/4)
- Lake Nyos (level 3/4) (applying cross-disciplinary science to solve a natural hazard mystery)
- Geology Qualifications Support Programme (support for teachers of intermediate and Higher Geology in classroom and field work)
- Carbon Capture and Storage (level 3/4) (cross-disciplinary resources explaining the disposal of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s subsurface, and the Earth crust’s capacity to store fluids; currently being developed)
- Darwin Today (level 3 /4) (Cross-disciplinary resources explain Darwin’s Theory of Evolution in Ecological and Geological contexts)
